Shayne David Hyrapiet (Born May 21, ) is an Anglo-Armenian-Indian[1][2] professional cover singer/stage performer born and raised in Kolkata (formerly Calcutta) India[3].

Passionate about singing he began as an amateur in the year He subsequently turned his passion into a profession and&#;has since performed extensively across India as well as in the United States, Australia, Switzerland, Canada, Kuwait, Dubai, Thailand, Hong Kong, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Shayne has had the privilege of sharing stage and opening concerts for famous Indian singers such as Usha Uthup[4], Shaan[4][5], Bombay Viking[4], Atif Aslam[5], Stereo Nation[5], Shibani Kashyap, Jal, Sukhbir[5], Kunal Ganjawala, K.K[5]., Manasi Scott, Jasleen Matharu, Sivamani[6], and Louiz Banks and has also performed for the Former President of India Sri.

Shayne's versatility lies in his ability to sing Bollywood Hits, Punjabi Bhangra Hits, and Retro and Contemporary English songs. Shayne speciality lies in open-air concerts, Indian Weddings, and Multinational Corporate Events. Shayne has also performed a number of shows for charity[7][8] and social justice issues from One Billion Rising[9][10][11][12] (Kolkata), Rainbow Homes[13][1] (Loreto) to the annual Kolkata Christmas Festival[14][15][16][17][18] at Allen Park, Kolkata and the Bow Barracks[19][20] of Kolkata.

Early Life

Shayne Hyrapiet was born to Heather and Peter Hyrapiet, a member and guitarist of the Cavaliers[21] of Calcutta. Shayne received no formal education or training in music, but participated in school and inter-school meets where his talent and passion for singing was cultivated.

Shayne attended St. Thomas' Day School and Assembly of God Church School for high school. He received his degree from St. Xavier's College, Kolkata.

Shayne is married to Nidhi Bakshi.

Shayne entered the music scene by competing in and winning several school and inter-school singing competitions where he excelled in modern and contemporary beats to gospel music. He is popularly known for his rendition of Amazing Grace.

Shayne began his professional singing career when he was shortlisted in the city of Calcutta (Kolkata) for the MTVRadio Ga-Ga Competition. He was among the four finalists who shared the stage with Adnan Sami.[22]. Thereafter, he competed in the Pepsi Music Magic Contest and was awarded 1st place in out of participants[22]

In , Shayne sang at the funeral service of the Late Mother Teresa of Calcutta.
